Ok so I have never owned a buell before. I really like these 2 bikes. I am 200lbs and just under 6'. Was wondering if the 12Ss would be too small for me? Any difference between the 2 performance wise? Any technical problems with them? Thanks for the help I really want something sporty but not leaned over all the time like a CBR.

Why would the 12Ss be small, are you confused and think its the low model the SCG.
Ss seat height 30.6
R seat height 30.5
The difference is you will be in a upright seating position on the Ss, the R is a little more leaned over. The riding position of the R's are no where near the riding position of a Cbr/Gsxr/etc <-- they are way more aggresive.

as it has been stated, the R will have the more sport bike seating postion so if your trying to stay away from that then the S will be fine for you.
There are some pretty big boys on the forum that are riding everything from XB9SX's to some of the different configurations of 12's that are well over 6' and 250#'s

Welcome and GL with the purchase. Do the ecumenical, it will give you better control of the bikes power, TQ and gas/air mix.
My firebolt is not an uncomfortable riding position. I'm 6'4" 220lbs (ok ok....230 lb) and I have a bad wrist and it is more comfortable than just about every other bike I've been on whether it be a cruiser or sport bike. Many sport bikes like my friend's that have sv's, ninja's, etc. are crazy uncomfortable. I don't think you'll be uncomfortable on any xb. I will say that I look huge on my bike...

06 and up are your best bet. Lots of upgrades done after that. Looks like a good bike though.
The Firebolt-XB12R-08 is a good choice for your ReQuirements. The Bikes 08+ have a Simple key turn method for Resetting the Tps but that is just one option for any Bueller. the Bikes are great fun to ride and, Maintenance is Key to any Buell for long lasting Wear and never get Cheap on the Fluids. If you change the Oils and Transmission Fluids yourself then make sure to just snug the DRAIN plugs so as NOT to Strip out the Threads.
There is plenty of Help here on the Forum and should you purchase A Buell then maybe a Parts Manual AND a Service Manual if you love to work on your own Machine is Nearly mandatory for Any Motor Machine.
There are Manuals here on the Forum to Assist you for Downloading. Some Areas Still Pertain to the bikes in many areas Such as Fluids etc..
Amsoil-20/50 in the Engine and Amsoil 75/90 in the Transmission (ALL Synthetic) will give you some good Antiwear so as to Keep you riding. I think you Should go with the Xb12R due to you weight. Nothing Personal,
I'm 6'2-188lbs. I work out regular so as to be able to handle the Twisties here in the Mountains.I have 2-XB12s an 08 XB12r-Street Bike and an 09 race bike for track days etc. Love them both. I have a Cr,i'm Building here and there. Plus once you set up the Suspension for your Weight the bike Responds nicely to your Abilitys. Good Luck on your Choices. Welcome to the Forum.*Jimi[up]
