Just got given a set of drop pegs and I'm wondering if they are worth installing on my R. Also if you have them do you have any trouble with them scraping sooner on the twisties?
Thanks

They do scrape sooner but they are a lot more comfy if you don't want them send me a pm

I say if you're scraping the 1" drop pegs you need to be on a track. I've ridden my Bolt pretty hard but I've never touched down the pegs. The street is NOT the place for riding at that level.
As far as comfort goes, they were some of the best money I've spent on my bike. 1" makes a WORLD of difference when you're long legged.

I wish there was a nice track in CNY. Highway on/off ramps usually see the most lean for me, but I hit a lot of them in my daily drive. I'll try anything to make it a little more comfortable short of buying a seat. I had the pegs given to me so cant hurt to try. I just have to adjust the shifter and rear brake right?

when i bought my bike my brake side had the 1 inch drop but stock shifter side so i did the lean lol but the brake side i had was not adjusted i just put a stock peg on the brake side.

Yes adjust the shifter and brake it's pretty easy.
I dont drag pegs if you hang off the bike enough all is good.
Only have scraped peg once on the track with my 1125 and a couple times on the Xb 2 up on the dragon.

scraping pegs? you guys must ride 10000x harder than me. i have never come close to scraping a peg lol

gravel, dirt, critters, cagers across the centerline, oil spots, tar snakes, not to mention those pesky traffic laws....there's a million reasons to ride at less than a track pace on the street. Dragging pegs either means you have poor body position and are leaning WAY farther than necessary or you're flying around the curves. Either way you're a disaster waiting to happen.

I ride a spirited pace on the street from time to time but I always try to leave myself enough of a cushion that if something unexpected comes up I have plenty of capability left to avoid it. Running at 9/10's means that if something unexpected comes up mid corner you are going to find yourself testing out how good your riding gear is the hard way.

I always keep a good body lean and never scraped the stock pegs (have a few scuffs on the toes of my boots though) just making sure its not going to be a huge change...first time I swapped bikes with my roomie he hit a squirrel on my bike in a turn..he stayed upright thankfully
