Hey guys,

My bike has been out of commission for over 3 months now with a burnt stator. Sent it off to Custom Rewind and had it rewound and epoxy'd. FYI, it was about a week turn around from Custom Rewind, I just haven't had time to put it back on. They do very quick work and are very nice! Got it put back in last night and went for a ride. My volts were skipping around very slowly on me. I would start in the 13's and then it would slowly drop some, come back up, drop some, and so on. It dropped to 11.9 with my brights on. I'm running Silverlight H7 bulbs and the brights have always sucked a lot of juice, but I live in the country and always ride with the brights on at night. Today I will see how it goes without the brights. When the stator was going out, the volts skipped around all over the place very quickly. Now it's really slow and I was riding at 5k RPM in 5th around 67MPH.

I do have the upgraded MOSFET regulator, upgraded harness, and now rewound stator. Could this be a battery problem? Positive and negative terminals have good connection and all my connectors look to be clean.

Mine moves around like you describing. I haven't done anything to mine. Stock stator and regulator. Just ride....
On another note I have talked to rickystator and they mine have a solution to the stator issue.

They are stating that 240c wire needs to be used...custom rewind doesn't have it so we'd meaning 1125r owners would need to provide it to him. Stuff isn't cheap but one roll would do about 100 stators.

Interesante! I tell ya'll, I dk what to do anymore. I haven't even put 30 miles on my rewound stator and my bike still wants to die on me. Died on me at a stop light, didn't want to start, I dk what else to do. I would just ride and not worry about it, but it's hard when I never know if she's going to fire up for me or not after I park. I am going to do more research on this rickystator! Please, anything else you know, post it!

Dies because of not enough volts or something else? Tps reset maybe? Race ecm? Ricky stators is saying that the wire isn't even close to being able to take that kind of temp...they say to use 240c wire....he thinks that it can take the heat. As I said before rewind doesn't use it but if a roll was purchased to i think he would use it to wind the stator. Personally I bought an 08 motor....ill put in the 08 stator and rewind the 09 with 240c wire for back up. Im trying to make this the last bike I own...in for the long haul.

Yeah, not enough volts and then the system voltage message pops up. Did TPS reset and already have a race ECM on it. RT Performance has been helping me on it and he said it may be a line fuse under the seat. I really hope it's that. I haven't checked yet. Going to give it a good look over tomorrow with my buddy who's way better with electrical stuff than I. I hope that's the problem. If you can find a price on the 240c wire, we can make a new post on here and I'll bet a lot of 1125ers will pitch in to make that wire cheap so we can send it to Gary at Custom Rewind.

Ok, good news! Solved my problem with my volts fluctuating up and down and my charging problems with the help of RT Performance. This may or may not help some of you out, but you can at least check and see.

My bike is an 09 Cr. I bought it with 2300 miles on it and after 2 days of riding, my voltage regulator started going bad and the "SYSTEM VOLTAGE" message came across my screen and stayed there. Rode it like that for about a week bc I was brand new to this forum and to the bike in general and knew little about it. Changed my VR out and upgraded to a MOSFET regulator. My volts immediately went back up to the low 14's. After about a month, my volts went from the low 14's and started to drop on me while riding home one night. The volts would drop and then rise, drop and then rise, etc. I was unsure if I was going to make it home. Stator was bad. Yanked it out, sent it off to Custom Rewind, got it back, put it back on, the bike seemed to charge well. Rode it to work and on the way to work my volts were still fluctuating and gradually kept going down more than coming up. It died on me at a stoplight. Fired it back up, got it home, shut if off, tried to start it again later and she was dead to the world. Took it to my buddies show yesterday and it died on me 3 times on the way there. He had to jump it for me each time. Got it to the shop and pulled both seats off. Checked the circuit breaker connecting the VR to the battery and she was toasted. I was pushing 13amps into the fuse and only 7 out, so the inlet was fried. Put a better fuse in, charged the battery for a few minutes, and she fired right up. Took it down the road for a test ride and she's been making 14.2 volts on the road and 13.8 in town ever since! :)

If you're having a charging problem with a new/fairly new stator and you have an upgraded VR with a fuse connected to it and the battery, I would definitely check it out before you do anything else. That could very well be your problem.

Glad you back up and running and any of you running into issue feel free to pm me for my phone number.
Just cause i ride a kaw now doesn't mean i have given up on you all.

Besides asking for a girls number at a restaurant, who is now my gf btw, getting RT's number was the 2nd best number that's been given to me lol! He's a huge help to those like me who know how to turn a wrench when we have some guidance.

Rt or anyone, tell me if this will fix problems with 1125 haven't really been on enough to know if there was a thread about it.

Yes from all the pics I've seen that a 08 set up with a free stator cover.
It should be a perment fix.
After texting with zdawg sound like custom rewind he now has is backed down to minimum out put.
Wich sounds promising to last a long time.
Part of me wishes I could of held out. But then I get on the zx10r and am astounded as to how great if a bike is really a great combo power differnt yet slightly more than the 1125 and flickabilty of a xb.

I'm making 14-14.5 volts solid all day day now. Feels good knowing she's going to fire up for me.

RT, I was unaware you got a Kawa? No more Buell? You get tired of the hassle?
