I found great place on my 2010 cr to put radar detecter. you wouldnt even know its there. when i removed the cover above headlight(2 screws) to change my front indicators i noticed there is a emty space above the headlight(apart from a few wires) there is also a axilary plug allready there. and by moving a few harness plugs around a bit it gives you a flat platform to put radar detctor even fits in its water proof cover.so i cut out a piece of the plastic ferring that sits above headlight. glued a piece of old helmet vizor i had lying around on the inside of the ferring and it just looks like a small spot light sitting above head light. and it works great, not easy to steal and the cops dont notice it there( they are legal here in NZ).and i have a wireless led light in my helmet so it is all nicely hidden.it has saved me 3 tickets allready.[cool]

Pics would be awesome. Here is where I mounted mine, not exactly hidden.

Ile try sort some photos (i have to learn how to put pics on) lol.good tidy set up you have there.Beats the ones sitting on a stalk hands down. u running bar end mirrors ?[cool]

Yes I am. I actually had both sets of mirrors on at the same time( not yet received the front turn signals ) and the bar ends only add about a 1/2" to each side, but they fold in if I need extra clearance. Not to mention I have functional mirrors now.

Oh well hear goes (ile see if photos show up for yous) My wife said this shoeld work.and yes the bar end mirrors work and look the part. you get the picter i think :)

That's really cool! I have my beltronics on a plate on top of my triple tree. I'd like to put mine somewhere else where it can see laser, right now it can't because it's behind a red visor.

Kiwi, that's a great place for stealth mounting your detector on your CR. However, you didn't need to perform the cutout in your fairing for your detector to "see". Radar works off of radio waves, which are not significantly affected by plastic, glass, cloth, fiberglass, or other non-metallic materials. I run my detector in my tank bag with no appreciable degradation in function (other than the obvious loss of laser detection, but that's a moot point as far as I'm concerned).

Excellent point, Tork.

There's no way I would choose that location if it were truly necessary to make such a significant, Frankenstein-looking cut into my fairing! Ouch.

I would be willing to sell my set up if someone was interested. Escort passport 9500i, mirror mount, and the correct sumitomo plug for the accessory outlet that is behind the bug shield. $250 shipped.

Or trade for a go pro.

True Tork, However i did try withuot cut out first and it wasnt as sensetive as with cut out ferring. And as N Z has lots of corners with hills and banks. we need all the warning we can get, and that still is not enough at times, lol. but thanks for the great advice.[cool]

RUST.? PHIL190 The headers are stainless on CR ( that dont rust)what you cant tell from photos is that what your looking at is cookt dry dirt from our lovely road works that our goverment like to throw every where so we can pack it down with our cars and bikes etc before they seal it.[cool]

Poinographer.FRANKENSTIEN , SIGNIFECENT ?Ile at mit that photos dont do it justice, predy well any one thats seen it thinks its. stock part of head light. The cut isnt rough at all and the sealant on inside is what looks rough. And is in fact black but the camera flash has made it look silver. The hole size is only 1 and half inch high by 2 and three qaurters wide. But your intiteld to yer opinion even if it is B/S.[confused]I think its preeemo spot and looks [cool] Send yours ofer and ile do yours to.[cool]

I'm glad you like it, kiwi, but you'll not be touching mine! haha

You'll have to forgive me, for I am a fussy machinist and the sight of asymmetrical/hand-worked material is jarring to me.

Like if someone makes a good point you click the [up] in the red circle. Or if they're being a ******* about something you can [down] them. On other forums I've been on that had this system if you [down] somebody that is unranked it will give then an insane amount of Rep. Kiwi actually has no rep but somebody decided to take rep away when infact it didn't exist. Hope that helps. :)
