So only after a couple days of riding I think I do prefer riding the CR over the duke. (One of the perks of having a little dealership. Get to ride all sorts of bikes.) http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/General-Motorcycle-Chat/Picked-up-a-superduke-990-yesterday
What I like about the duke:
The engine is silky smooth. The one I have has been remapped, but I'm not sure the details. I've read about surging issues with the bike, which the superduke.net memebers refer to as 'snatch'. Kind of funny. But perhaps the remap really worked on this one. My CR has the ebr race ecm and it seems to have some snatch in the typical places.
The one I picked up has and FMF exhaust on it. My CR also has an FMF and the bikes sound very similar.
If I could put the LC8 engine into an XB there would be a match made in heaven. It sounds good, runs smooth, and has great power.
It feels light. Has the fmf carbon exhaust on it and probably lost 25lbs over the stock exhaust.
I'm also a fan of how the bike looks. Very unique.
What I don't like:
The handling. Maybe I just need more time to get used to it, but it feels awkward to turn. I haven't looked at the measurments of the bike, but I think it has a much longer wheelbase and a more slack head angle. I really like the way the buells handle.
It's tall. The riding position is more similar to the uly than an xb or CR with highbars. But minus all the extra pot hole eating suspension of the uly. This is probably my biggest complaint.
I really like the bike, but I would rather jump on the CR with the high bar kit installed. Just my preference.
I'll probably get it listed for sale in the next couple weeks.
