I'm sorry if this has been covered in previous threads but, I've not been able to find the exact answers that I need. I have an 2008 1125r with around 7500 miles on it. Lately I've experienced some problems with my battery losing charge. I actually bought a new sure gel battery hoping it would fix the problem. My battery seems to slowly lose charge over time. I have a battery tender and keep it on it most of the time because of this. If I go a couple days without plugging it up the battey light comes on and occasionally I will get a voltage error message on my screen while attempting to start my bike. I left it in the garrage for a week while I was on vacation and when I got back the battery was completely dead. I charged it and everything is good now. But, I'm sure it will slowly drain again until I have to charge it again. I don't know if it is a stator issue or what. It seems to me like the stator isn't maintaining the charge on my battery. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

2008 had a parstic draw in the insterment cluster.
upgrade to the 09 cluster i belive .
The bad news is i think there on Back order.
The 08 stator don't have a issue other than there kinda low output but it sure sounds like a draw from the cluster is draining the battery.
if your handy and have a volt meter you can test it buy checking the amps between the battery and the terminal(disconect the battery and install betwen post and terminal)
average battery can take about 5 millamps.
or a really dim test light bulb.

Thank you very much for the information. I'll have my brother in law check the amps for me. That's what he does for a living. Does anyone know about how much a new cluster costs?
