My 09 1125r dies when I hit the throttle a couple times at a low RPM. I can almost do it every time. When I do it and it does die it makes a pop/backfire sound as well. I am moving the throttle very quickly and below 3000 RPM. Has any one else experienced this? I am wondering if this is even a problem, the bike runs great other than that.

Well, it's a semi-large displacement engine with HUGE throttle bodies that will suck a lot of air when you open them up. It's gonna die if you keep doing that. Don't blip the throttle and it won't die.

Blipping or pumping the throttle can also foul the plugs.

My mechanic was telling me a bout an 1125R owner that has brought his bike in several times for fouled plugs. When the guy rides he pumps the throttle a couple times going from a dead start, even though the mechanic keeps telling him not to. This is a hard habit to break when you learn to do it by riding a really low idled Harley and dirt bikes for years.

My old XB12R didnt do it, but when I "upgraded" to the 1125R I found that this happened almost every time, too. The updated calibration helped, but it isn't a hardly dangerous, you dont need to blip it to make it downshift easily.
