I'm new to this forum. I reside in the DFW, Texas area.
I'm interested in the 1125 and wanting to learn the differences between the R and CR models.
I just totaled my bike on December 18th and now healing from the injuries.
I will travel anywhere in the lower 48 to get my next bike, fly in and ride back.
It will be approximately 3 months of healing to recover.
I'm interested in a '09 or '10 low mileage (<10K miles) bike.

Thanks, Frank

R has taller gearing, fairing. CR has lower gearing, no fairing. Think those are the large differences.

a few years back I had a pretty bad accident at the mine where I worked, Ive had several surgeries on arms, wrists and a couple on my neck, with pins plates etc. I had a long recovery and all I could think about was riding again. well I finally decided to get back on the horse, only to find I wanted a different horse. I wanted sport bike instead of the Harleys after doing lots of research I narrowed it down to the r or the cr. I ended up going with the cr with a high bar kit instead of the clubman bars.. I also have the adj pegs. this bike allows me a more upright riding position with all the umph I need. I love my cr and its the one I would choose if I were you

I second the upright bars on the CR. I have knocked down over 600 miles a day touring thanks to that setup last summer.

Issues I had to work out were the stator and clutch weep. Upgrading the rear brake with the brembo conversion soon though. It worked okay but I think it could make the bike even better if it was more responsive.

Overall, I love my CR. Originally wanted an XB12R firebolt when I bought it but glad I did. It's a fun bike and I enjoy the heck out of it. 10,000 miles on the clock and climbing, though not as much with the winter right now.
