Hey gents,
I was recently looking around the web, and found that there are leather or vinyl tank protectors that wrap around the lower half of the tank. i had something similar on my sv, but i cant find any of these wraps for sale. any ideas? thanks for your time!

If you are talking about the "Buell" tank protectors, they are hard to find new since they are no longer made. Sometimes they come up on ebay or a forum member is selling one. Not cheap either- ~$70 - $100. Used much better prices. From what I have seen, the aftermarket ones are even more.

You can also look into some of the tech-spec tank pads/grips. They just stick on but there's a piece for the back and 2 for the sides so it does pretty much the same thing. I have one of the buckle guards and they're made with reusable sticky stuff so they're easy to pull off, and won't permanently latch onto your airbox. I got the hi-fusion version because I thought it looked better, but in the future I think I'll get the normal diamond plate pattern, those pads look like they're thicker.

Here are the tech specs that up is talking about. Bad pic but on the frame from the puck down to the bottom edge of the seat, side of the airbox cover and buckle guard. Cuts down on some heat. ASB has them.
