1190 engine

Ia do not believe we can buy motors from ebr seeing as they are doing a limited prod run at the moment, but perhaps down the road they will sell them to the general public. I want to pound my 1125 to an 1190 when it needs to be rebuilt later on :D

There are several ways you can achieve an "1190".

The least expensive is a 3MM larger piston and matching cylinder. The pistons would be made to match the stock weight so no balancing of the rotating assembly would be required thus no case splitting.

From there how much do you want to spend? Balance the crank, lighten the pistons, move the piston pin height, after market crank/rods/cams/springs... etc.

Toss in the head work and the dollar signs start adding up quickly.

Heads,
42mm TI Intake valves
35.4MM TI Exhaust valves
Beryllium Copper Seats
Del West bronze guides
"Stage 3" port work
.010" milled surface

With a .043 head gasket I'm looking at 14.75 to 1 compression.

Ebr, or an outside source? I would like to start saving now

Both. EBR doesn't make a whole lot, they have the parts made to their specs (nothing wrong with that). So you can go to EBR and get their spec stuff or direct to the manufacture and get either off the shelf or spec your own stuff. The EBR products are great products, they are made for road racing and didn't fit within the parameters I was after. Michael from EBR was a TREMENDOUS help when I was sourcing motor parts.

As for pistons there are several companies showing a listing for 3MM over pistons. CP would be my choice as Terry has first hand knowledge of the 1125. Revolution Performance does the cylinder boring and nickasel coating.

EBR has stated a few times on the other forums that an 1190 will not directly swap into the 1125.

You'd need the bigger air box, which requires the larger frame, which requires the new subframe which requires the new harness ... you can see where this is going...

I believe they are referring to a crate motor. With that said I'd like to know why as the motor dimensions have not changed externally. I understand the bigger race motor needs more air and fuel than our 1125's. There is more than one way to bring air into the bike and to add fuel.

Converting an existing 1125 to a 1190 is no big deal. I say that from first hand expierence. A race 1190 is a little different than a street 1190 with its requirements.

so if i did the pistons, rods,3mm over on the cylinders deck the heads would they stay together just for street and track days how much$$ thanks
