Hey Buellers, just finished the swap of putting in a 05' xb12r motor into my 03' xb9r,also did the primary gear swap of the 9's into the 12,on Saturday had a 3 hour Dyno tune session at JTnS Performance here in Sonoma, the end result is a total torque monster that eats inline fours, question is do the 12's run on the hotter side temperature wise than a 9? I noticed the temperature difference on my last ride, and she doesn't like to run until she warmed up,I did just get my rider comfort kit for the right side so I will put that on to see if it makes a difference,my fan will come on will riding around town, spirited riding mind you,the 12r motor is new to me as are it's characteristics,so any input would help, thanks:p

Yea my 12 is hot. Not scorching but hot. Got the comfort kit and it takes the heat down significantly. Don't know if I want to insulate my seat yet cause I like to ride when it's cold but from what I've read. It makes a big difference also.

Have a '07 ULY & '03X9S. ULY runs much hotter than S. Had to insulate seat on ULY and fan come on much more often.
As for removing in winter, no problem. Went to local fire dept. and got a piece of old turn out pants. Cut it to fit under seat. When a little heat is good just remove, if not just lay it in under seat.
