new to the forum. recently purchased buell. has 13000 miles, mostly stock, ridden approx. 500 miles since purchased. looking for advice on maintance and troubleshooting.

the 99 was the first year of fuel injection. Some things you should address on this year if they have not been done are replace with the updated parts-
primary tensioner and oil pump drive gear. Both can be purchased at www.americansportbike.com
If you still have the old style shifter, you will get much better shifting from a updated shifter and an aftermarket shifter.
also there are updated shocks and isolators.
I would also change the front engine mount bolts (they are known to break)

thank you sir, i do have a copy of the service manual. I have a vance and hines slip on exhaust being the only aftermarket part, it does seem to be making a ticking sound as of late. wasnt sure if it was due to something being rattled loose.
