2001 x1

quick pick of my old 2001 x1 lightning. that was a fun day...hey, i beat that honda in the pic!
i'm getting used to my 1125cr(lotsa power!),but I loved this bike.

Nice X1 guy. Is it turbocharged? I'm seeing all kinds of stuff going on near your header/intake area.

no thats just a simota high flow forced air system with a small velocity stack. Basically its a high flow cone filter inside a bell housing. Thats the stock header with the pro series buell muffler/ecm...let me see if i can dig up up a better pic...

That's a nice looking X1. So I take it you got rid of the X1 when you moved up to the 1125? That had to have been a big change.

yea, had to sell the x1 to get the cr and ur right it was a huge change. These bikes are not remotely similar. Comfort wise the x1 wins hands down BUT I think when I lose the clubman bars for the tallbar kit and lower the pegs on the cr I will be more comfortable.
Performance wise the cr would smoke the x1 without trying. Believe me I am not bashing the x1-great bike and i wish i could have kept it, but as I said earlier the cr is in a different league.

Too bad you couldn't keep them both....I have a hard time getting rid of a bike that I like. I'm really tempted by the current 1125R/CR liquidation prices, and I'm sure I will kick myself for not buying a new one.

Thanks guys, i miss her! Like I said performance wise there is no contest, but there are alotta other factors besides speed and handling that make a bike cool. I used to work at a vtwin shop so most of my riding buds are harley riders and custom chopper guys.(I gotta hook up with some riders from this site this spring!!!!) My bike would get more attention then theirs 90% of the time. At one time I had a modded V&H pipe on it...by modded I mean hacked off just past the support near the regulator. That totally blew my low end performance but man it sounded like a combo of a harley and Nascar. If anyone was on the fence, I'd fire it up and their eyes would light up. People who werent familiar with Buell would say stuff like 'man that bike is rad...musta cost 30k$!' I would almost piss myself laughing since it cost more like 4K and the real $30K bourget(sp) was sitting right next to it(prolly gettin ready to break another primary belt).
All that being said I doubt the CR will draw that kind of attention- so cool factor goes to the x1. BUT then again, I ride for me, not what my buds think of my bike.
I'll get another tuber one day.
