Hey guys, Just picked up a 2004 Buell XB12s and it has an issue where it seems to only be running on the front cylinder. Plugs and wires are supposedly fresh. I tested the resistance on the plug wires and they check good. Did the ohm test on the ignition coil and the primary test showed 2.1 where spec shows it should be .5-.7 and the secondary test shows 12.1 and it should be around 5.7 - 7.5 Does this issue sound like replacing the ignition coil will fix my problem?

So i dont think the new coil is going to solve my problem. Ohmed the new coil and it has the exact same specs as the old one... whats up with that?

are you switching the scale on your meter or does it have auto?just checked mine it falls with in the specs in the manual.

I am changing the scale on my meter rx1 for the primary and rx1K for the secondary. I measured resistance on my plug wire and that is within spec so i assumed my meter is working. Is that what you show in your manual for an xb12s .5-.7 primary and 5.5-7.5 for secondary? I replaced the coil and plugs / wires and started it up went for a spin and it was hesitating for a bit in first gear then once the bike was warmed up seemed to run fine. Any ideas on what might cause it to run like that when cold?

yes 0.5-0.7 and 5.5k-7.5k.whats the temp where you are.mine does that below 50 deg i just let it warm up longer.
