2006 buell xb12r firebolt regulator issue.

ive seen that many buells have had a recall for regulators. so my first question is since i bought my bike used a couple years ago will the harley shop still honor any recalls? and if not what is a good replacement regulator for it and where to buy? i thought the 06 xb12rs had regulator issues so i dont want to buy the same one as stock. gone through a lot of batteries already, costing me a bit too much. my trickle charger seems to be telling me i have an regulator aka alternator problem also. just dont wanna buy the wrong stuff. ty all and hope you had a great new year.

For the 06 xb's I think its the "regulator plug" connector for the regulator that's the recall. You will need the actual 06 regulator for your 06 xb12rs. 03-07 xb's had old style regulator plug. 08+ had upgraded plug. My 07 Firebolt fried the plug and the regulator. I installed the upgrade kit, with a new 07 xb9r regulator, never had issues after. I have a "new upgrade kit" for sale on ebay. Not the regulator itself, but the regulator plug upgrade

thanks but i think i might want to upgrade the regulator also if im going to do the plug and i dont need all those other items your selling with the plug on ebay. if i do just the plug i should be able to get it for less then 40$ too. thanks for the info though it is appreciated

I think 03-07 are compatible. But not 08-10. I ended up with an 08 by mistake and it grounded itself out when I was trying to install it. Try to stick with a 06 regulator from whichever model 06.
