Hey guys quick question...Just found a 2006 Firebolt with 10.5k miles....going to check it out tomarrow. (Wifey wants a different bike for herslef) Is there anything that I should look for besides the usuals? It looks like it has the race exhaust on it, but cant tell too much past that till i see it.

O, just found this too. same place has an 08 with 6,500k miles on it. Anything to watch out for on 08s bsides them being a b$#%h to tune?

Have a dealership run a check on the VIN numbers to see if it's had any past Major problems.

I'd lean more towards the '06 because of the ECM issue of tuning being easier, but it's all up to personal preference. If you're not planning an exhaust & intake mod though, the '08 may be a better choice.

I have no faith in 08's Bajabomber has had way too many problems with his. In my opinion, the 06 and 07 were the best year for Buells.

Look for oil leaks or impact dents on the bottom of the pipe. If you ride it, check for vibration when breaking. Ask how often they need oil added(just play dumb) it should never need to be refilled.

i was in the same boat as you when buying a bike, but i decided to buy a brand new 09. as far as tuning issues go, check out the new erik buell racing website (under shop/store and in the elctrical section) you will notice they released a new 08+ race ecm and tuning kit. I am soon to order it

Hey guys figured i would give you an update. Ended up buying her a brand new 07, sunfire yellow xb12r. We just went and picked it up this last saturday. Found it in Illinois threw the buell bike finder. they had it in the back in the racks still, only had 15 miles on it...

Here is a pic of my wifes bike. We got back in febuary. we got a pretty sweet deal on it. I keep threatning her that shes going to wake up and im going to have the plastics swapd on our bikes...haha
