So the tail section from my Lightning Long got trashed and I would either like to replace it (one of the strange ones that seem to like the look of the tail LOL) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the tail section to any XB would fit or does it have to be from a XB12SS? How tough is that to pull off and would anyone have one they would care to sell? Any info that you all could shoot my way would be appreciated. THANKS!

And on that note I have noticed that on some of the posts, people have had issues when using aftermarket turn signals...any thoughts on what I should look out for?

i like the looks of the non-chopped (stock) tail also. i have a chopped tail that i put on every once in a while, but i can't seem to get used to the look[smirk]. to answer your question, yes a tail from an xbs will fit on a ss and vice-versa

THANKS JOEL9! I appreciate the help. I was looking at putting this on as it fits universally and it looked clean. Since you replace yours frequently, how time consuming is it to pull off? Do you have after market signals?

i have my short tail rigged up with signals. it only takes about 15min. to switch out. here's mine, it's an RRC tail from trojan-horse. it's kinda spendy but i got it off a fellow bueller for cheap. also the tail light is not very bright. the only problem you will have w/ signals is if you get led signals. usually you have to get a new flasher unit.

I saw that one and it is a bit pricey for me and the one from my picture comes from dieselmoto for about $180 including shipping. I like yours tho too! Very nice! I just know that if I do that, I will also need new turn signals and I have read alot of posts about how I will need or wont need a new relay for LEDs and the rears should be easy to replace but I am not sure how tough changing out the front blinkers would be.

I have the DM tail on my XB12ss. Easy to install the rear turn signals. If you go LED you will need a new signal relay to slow them down. I've looked at changing my front signals but have yet to take the plunge. Just lazy I guess. I have a new XB lights integrated light waiting for me when I get home this weekend.

Phazernut! Thanks so much for the feedback...It does really help and I appreciate it. It is exactly what I want to get and I wanted to ask you, how did you if at all, illuminate the license plate? Did you use their bracket or do something else? Alot of the posts say yes on the relay for the blinkers and many of them say as long as I dont mind the faster flash rate, I wont need the relay...what do you think? I am thinking I might just get the DM tail and leave it at that for now...cause I am being lazy too! LOL I would like to know what you think about the XBlights too.
