Hi!

I'm a new rider, well new to street bikes. Been riding some dual purpose and dirt bikes for a few years now.

My local buell dealer has a nice 2007 leftover CityX.

Is there anything different between 2007 or 2008 worth buying a new 2008 model for?

08's have new electronics that never require a TPS reset and a couple other small changes in the motor (can't remember off hand what though). Also Hero Blue for 08 has blue rims (look very nice!) instead of black. Unless you have to have the blue rims a substantial savings on the 07 will more than offset a few TPS resets.

Throttle position sensor. It tells the computer (ECM) exactly where the throttle is. ECM uses that info to help determine what part of the fuel map to use. Sometimes due to wear (you'll know it because bike will just start running funny) or anytime a different ECM is put in a TPS reset will have to be performed. Dealers charge around $40 but it can be done yourself with free software and a $30-50 usb/duetch cable.

Sounds alot similiar to a crank and throttle sensor. Cool cool. So Basically my local dealer giving me $1200+ off on the bike is worth it?

I was wrong. I went last night to the dealer and it is a 2006 left over not 2007. I think I can squeeze $1,600 off the price, is it worth then?

2006 and 2007...only difference is the airbox I believe. Basically the 07 has more "holes" in it.
