2007 Lightning XB12ss (long) 3800

I'm going to go through everything i know about the bike and then explain why I'm thinking of selling:

2007
Xb12ss
Original black with black wheels
11,200miles
Runs very well
close to new tires
close to new cheap battery
Stock pipe and ECM
bike needs:
rocker box gaskets,
front rotor removed and hardware cleaned and greased and rotor dressed (rotor squeaks and chatters)
Cheap flat black paint job removed?
A pair of Frame pucks?

I bought this bike from the dealer i work @, it was a trade in on a pickup. I Planned to do some paint work to it and fix all the things listed, ride it for a awhile and sell it (unless i really liked it). Being perfectly happy to break even, by the time i figure all the money and work i was going to put into it.(Alot of the other things i want to do to it are totally uneeded). But I have got thinking about all the other things i should be putting my effort towards instead of a second buell. So if someone else wants to buy a cheap solid bike to ride and fix those few little things over the winter this would be a good one i think.

Bump for pics! rode the lightning around a bit more last night it really does run great! Amazing that the few difference between it and the uly make them feel so different!

I'm going to open up to offers (please be reasonable). I did some cleaning up and tinkering with the lightning yesterday and found it does have a k&n installed. I cleaned all the paint off the bolts that the PO painted. Went around and snugged up a few things, installed some new OE grips. Some one should come get this puppy while there's a couple warm days left!

well gonna give this one more bump, then I'll stop pressing the sale until spring. Should have time to do the rocker boxes, clean up the brake, get some real black paint on there, and hopefully build/buy some exhaust!! Of course the price will go up accordingly but anyways until i begin the work on it i will go pretty low on it. PM me if interested Thanks!

Update. New bar end mirrors and OE grips installed.
And built a "drag"pipe for it. And stuck a "race "map on it. Runs great. A bit louder. Still have all stock parts of course. I'm open to trade offers too. Bike is now in my nice warm basement for the winter.

Feels like the artic today. Was 70 Thursday afternoon and this morning is 25. Winter arrived. I would ship it, but have never done that before. I have always liked in person sales, I like the buyer to have every opportunity to see what they're buying and any of its flaws no matter how minor. Thanks for the luck! If it doesn't sell soon I'm tearing it down for gaskets and paint.

Just thought i might update on this bike. Still thinking of selling this spring. Been doing lots of work to the bike. Its going to be a sweet ride. Rocker box gaskets are done. lots of cleaning and degreasing and polishing done. New black paint.(very nice paint!!!) bar end mirrors, grips, LED blinkers, new oil in both will be done, cleaned TB, new plugs. Ordered a KEDA RT-2 (magnaflow)which i'll likely polish, and having the ECM tuned for it, chin fairing brackets. I'm really starting to love the way it looks, but i dont really need 2 xb12's. This baby will be ready to ride! I think I'll start by asking 5,000 or reasonable offer. I'm sure you can imagine that i have a good bit of money in the bike now.

BB, Looking very nice, Sounds like you have a connection with this now, hard to sell after that . How did you get the header pipes shiny ?

Shined the header with some 3m trizact 1500 then 3000 then mothers metal polish. They're not like mirrors but look nice.

Btw. 5k will be my local craigslist starting price. Obviously not what it will sell for, but weeds out the local low ballers that want to offer 2k. If anyone is interested pm me. I will let you in on what I have in it. I am not expecting to make much at all on this bike, just doing it for the love of buells

Hey fellas! I'm gonna give this a bump and throw out a smoking deal (at least I think). I've found a bike nearby that I want, but must sell the lightning as I do not need 3 bikes.
Full run down. ..Well. It's got about 11,500 miles on it. I bought it from the car dealer I work at when it got traded in, in September. I rode it about 500 miles. I have done rocker box gaskets on it, lots of polishing and cleaning, new paint, blinkers, mirrors, grips, Carbonfiber heel guards. Waiting on new stainless steel "dean adams designs keda rt2 muffler"and programmed (by Mike Cobb)ecm to come in. (Should be about a week). Fresh oil and checking over the brakes will get done as soon as I get the muffler on (easier to jack it up in the middle then). So it's looking really sharp and will be super nice when complete. Runs great! Super fun. But I don't need 2 buells and have been wanting a harley for a while. (This is a message I'd sent to potential trade copied it to save typing it again. )

So here's the deal. This thing ready to rip, I'd like 4. I think that's pretty good. If anyone actually wants it and must travel I will do what I can to help with that expense just for the sake of moving the bike and getting someone a nice ride.

Got off my bum this afternoon. Did the oil changes and got the front wheel off to clean up it and the brake. Muffler and ecm is going be here Monday according to fedex sooooo any luck she'll be running by the weekend! Got one interested party waiting for me to get it together.

Muffler showed up yesterday! Woo-hoo! Looks good, thanks Dean! Now just have to get time to put it all together. Hopefully get everything bolted on tonight and maybe get the tps set and fire it tomorrow evening. If the damn weather would warm up that'd be great. I'll take it for a quick ride anyway as long as its not raining or snowing!
