I've dug through the 150 useful tips and other places and have seen the 06&07 models are different and don't interchange with the alternate numbers listed . Do you know if this is definate and if so what might be a good alternate to use.

Someone, not long ago, claims that a BMW one works. I'm not sure....about two weeks ago maybe?!

all i ever found is that there was an old ford part# that had been discontinued by ford in the 90's and no longer manufactured until harley used the same design in '07. its very, very similar to the '06 ones, but the slots that align with the prongs on the throttle body are in a different position (as are the prongs on the TB on the 07) so the only place i could find it was harley. I spent alot of time lookin around with parts guys @ work (ford, gm, and chrysler dealer) tryin to find an alternate part with no luck except an obsolete ford part.

heres my post from my old trouble code 11 thread

Ok that ford part# fits 04-06 xb12 with a different Throttle Body Pin oreintation 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock. The 07 changed to 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock. Which is a part that i thinked ford made for 93 only mustangs but no longer manufatures. No aftermarket ones r availible in my area and the online photos dont show the pin orientation well enuff. So im goin 2 get a harley one. Possible ford #cx1323(if ne one wants to find one and c if it fits. The harley #is to279.3aa.

I researched this quite a bit for my '07 Uly, had no luck finding a cheaper alternative. Ended up buying the expensive one from a Harley dealer.

Oh well that sucks balls lol. Guess the stock one is gonna get a nice contact cleaner bath and reinstalled. Worked great on my front brake lever switch . Thanks for the info guys.

Might sound stupid but if the tangs are in diff spots cant you just zero it with it preloaded on the spring? Just a shot in the dark.

If not its cheeper to buy a used throttle body off an older model and then get the auto part TPS lol. Makes since if you can get a good deal i think. And you dont give the great HD any money [up]

OH, yes some auto parts will fit the Buells and some of those parts are ford parts. Take off the old TPS sensor[save the bolts and those small flat washers] if it is bad and take it with you to Advance Auto parts or AutoZone. The Orignal Factory HD number if it has not been Changed to another number is #P0279.5AA-Some Made in [Germany] if it is a Factory Part. Please check that number to be sure, they do change to a superceeded number about every two years.
The Aftermarket part make sure you clean out the Throttle Body threads AND the Bolts where the Sealant was used Because the Zinc Bolts are easy to break off after the amount of heat they have been Exposed to.
DONOT use a Stainless bolt in the Orignal Threads, imagine how hard that would be to drill out if the bolt heads poped off OR cracked the new part.
Now, I just did a Throttle Position Sensor for a Girls Firebolt the other week, and I get parts from the Stealership for a reasonable price, $54.bucks and I get the bike out of the shop. I realize most don't want to give Harley Davidson Stealership any business but if it's in stock (Well Sometimes)I just have it Delivered or other.
Try the Auto parts Houses, Even Napa has a lot of parts for a Buell that also fit Automobiles. I've gotten Fuell Pumps/ IAT/ TPS/ filters & parts when they have those in stock.
Good Luck & Ride Safe.*Jimi

Hi apriliaryan!
Sorry for my earlier post....I researched that BMW sensor. (DuraLast # TPS4129). It looks like that is for '08 and newer bikes. I wasn't aware of an '07 only sensor. (The newest one Ive owned was an '06!). If i come up with any more info, I'll post it!! :)

Hey all good and thanks. I have one coming in today at advance, if it doesnt match im not out any money I can just compare in store. I like tearing **** apart, kinda go me thinking maybe keep new one even if wrong, gut em both and see whats up.Im trying to sell the bike so riding isnt a big deal lol. So long as its back together when I get the call. lol

Might sound stupid but if the tangs are in diff spots cant you just zero it with it preloaded on the spring? Just a shot in the dark.

that'd work everywhere from closed throttle to about half:p so yeah the new owner might not notice till he got ballsy enuff to crank 'er up.

NOT GONNA WORK ;)
