2007 xb12s Handlebars

How close are the Handlebars from the gas tank on full steer. Trying to move bike around in driveway and they pinch my hands into the tank. Is this normal or do they have to move forward?

Nothing is supposed to touch the tank. They are too low

So they are as close as I could get to the fork posts with wiggle room. Feels a hell of alot better for position and I can turn my bike around in the driveway now without killing myself

There is a bit of front to back adjustment on the bars for rider comfort. The max adjustment is when the bars hit the forks or when controls hit the tank
