2007 XB12SCG won’t Idle or go above 3k rpm

Took my 2007 XB12 out today and it was running flawlessly for about 50 miles. I topped it off with some 93 premium and rode for another 8 miles before I parked it for about 30 minutes. When I started it up again it was sputtering bad and would not idle without dying. To keep it running I had to twist the throttle constantly and the bike would not go over 3000-3400 rpm while on the verge of dying the entire time.

I drained the fuel and changed the plugs, which looked very rich. That didn’t help at all. Does anybody have any idea what’s going on with the bike?

Frame/tank venting system working properly?

Obtain diagnostics software such as EcmSpy or BuellTooth and access your ECM looking at present/historical FC's and your AFV values.
Specifically check battery condition...battery cables condition at all 4 ends....charging system output.

You've provided such minimal info that educated guesses are what you'll get. Mine would be failing fuel pump....dire need of TPS reset and curb idle adjustment....wildly skewed AFV values.

Exhaust and tank venting: can’t confirm as I am currently across the country.

Thanks for the suggestions, you were on to something here Barrett! I have a BuellTooth on the way and recently put in a new battery and plugs as well as adjusted the idle. It ended up being the fuel pump, however, after I installed it I was only able to get about 10 minutes of riding in before the gauges cycled and it died. I had a lithium battery in it before but replaced it with a regular battery. However, like clockwork got about 10 minutes in with the new battery and it died. I plan on testing the stator, VR, and the 77 plug, but I’ll check the battery cables and grounds as you suggested as well. Thanks again!

Random gauge cluster "cycling" in conjunction with erratic engine behavior is almost always associated with wild voltage fluctuations. The electrical tests you mentioned on performing are spot-on....and take a look at your AFV values AND cleanliness of the contacts for your 10A fuel pump fuse in the fuse box.
