I feel stupid asking this, but where the heck is the inspection plug on 2008 and older models? I know it's at the base between both cylinders on older models but the manual for 2008/09 doesn't mention anything...

2008 and newer models do not have an inspection plug due to the use of a new crankshaft position sensor and ECM to calculate the timing, as opposed to the camshaft position sensor on 2007 and earlier models. The sensor mounts in a fixed position and is not adjustable. One less thing to check on a maintenance schedule :)
