My 2009 Buell XB12R has 13,600 miles on her with new tires, battery, oil, and perfect body condition. It has two pipe systems and some custom Buell flare added by last owner. Well cared for; adult owned; and mainly used as DC commuter bike for HOV lanes.

Really cool USA built bike and so much fun to ride. Good light weight starter sport riding bike that handles great. Last of her kind with the 1200cc Harley engine prepared by Erik Buell former factory racer. Very low cost of ownership with the air cooled engine and easy service in the bike's design.

103hp 1200cc Engine
Smooth Shifting 5 Speed
Low Maintenance Belt Drive
400lb Dry Weight
Low Center of Gravity
D&D Exhaust install and have stock.
Classed for Low Cost Motorcycle Insurance
New State Inspection
Owner's Manual
Garage Kept

With this baby, you're the guy that'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike. Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Damn thats cheap, this is Kevins old bike correct? Do you want to part with the D&D?

Oh9bolt, she is priced to sell to a good home where she will get respect, good care, and feeding. I don't want to pull off the D&D as I might be keeping her. Bought the bike from a guy in Stafford last winter.

UMDterp13, No dealer yet. I'm still looking around for a HP4 or S1000RR upgrade. Crazy I know.

Most CL buyers contacting me are the low information types having Jap bike visions from their dope. If any good comes of this maybe some will be educated that these bikes are fast unique rides and purpose built for racing and help the slow Buell sales market. I am a mechanical engineer and can say the outstanding build quality has not depreciated and is not at question with the lifelong belt drive and Harley engine design choices. This bike has the lowest cost of ownership of any motorcycle by design.

You are correct on maintenance & description of the bike, about 1/3 compared to a Yamaha sport bikes...

But:
What the "kids" my age want is what their friends, uncle, "cuz", or co worker told them was "the fastest bike out there" usually falls to a gixxer lol

I know you'll be hard pressed to find a dealer that will take that for more than $2.5-3k.

As for the BMW:
Try Battley's cycle in md. They have Ducati & BMW. There were 2 s1000 there a few months ago.
Also consider an EBR 1190RX at the price range your at they are pretty close. Might be down 25hp but it's up 25ftlbs of Tq. On the street, Tq is the fun stuff

UMDterp13, Thanks I really like the HP4, but they are hard to find and no more are to be built. I also looked at both the KTM and EBR bikes for the advantages of the V-twin engine mass and inertia effect over the other engines, but they don't have the advanced suspension and handling tech as the BMWs. I think Ducati bikes are over priced and expensive to upkeep. I studied suspension systems in college for my ME project and the dynamic of how a bike frame and suspension must act in corners is amazing science and art.

I found a buyer and its me. I think the freedom of motorcycle polygamy is not outlawed yet in the USA having more than one bike. The Buell is always wanting to have fun and will not go screw my so called friends when she is mad.

I went ahead and sold her to someone local so I can get a race suit and neck brace for track days with my HP4. For the Buell, I have a nice machined crank case breather kit with filter they did not want if someone is interested.
