Bike is awesome, first bike though, I am considering a Can-Am, Twisties are fun but I am almost 40 and want something to cruise around on with the wife.

Hi Kkcdcdc,

First of all NICE AND EASY TO PRONOUNCE NAME :D
Just a joke.:)

Have you ever ridden a BRP Can-Am Spyder Roadster? I guess you ment this particular toy

If yes then you definitely know what you want.
If NO then I strongly recommend you to ride it prior to buying. You could change your mind, perhaps.

I have ridden this three wheel "half bike-half car" macine a couple of times.

Advantages:
- 990 cc V-Twin as on Buell (Rotax by the way)
- Good sound and power
- Good at straight road cruising
- Yeah you dont have to hold the bike with your legs while you are not moving. Yes it is good.
Disadvantages:
- Awful in corners (impossible to incline it like a bike) it scares a little as for me
- Has no hand brake. Foot brake only. If you will have to stop rapidly on the high speed. You'll feel that one foot pedal is not enough. To say more you'll feel as if you are trying to jump out off the bike on the speed by pressing that pedal with your foot.
- Wide front suspension (you wont be able to sqeeze through a narrow corridor between cars) wide as a car
- It has no niche to hold on the bike with your legs like Buell Airboxes Cover or other bikes fuel tanks have

Sure it was wonderful feeling to ride this car-bike machine but I'd better keep Buell.
Just my point of view.

Good luck with you making up your mind.:)

kkcdcdc are my kids initials... you could have uploaded a cool can-am picture, not mom on the spyder, all said thanks for the info though

Oh, you are happy to have a lot of kids[up]
How many of them by the way?

As to that Spyder pic I have posted. I made it intentionally just for fun:p

I will try to reform and post something better like this

On Buell you cana corner fast. On spyder... not so fast. I'd better say SO NOT FAST.[smirk]

Kkcdcdc, please don't consider me to be a dream spoiler but is this what you really want to change your Buell for? I still remember how good and comfortable Spyder is on the straight road. However be ready for slow turns only. Now I hope you understand why have I posted the "Mom Spyder" pic;).

I'll be glad if you'll share your opinion on this issue.

And by the way, you have a really nice XB9SX[up]

First bike ever? Nice bike. I work downtown in Columbus and live near New Albany. That said, I'm not sure if your bike is exactly what I'm looking for, but it is a nice looking bike!

I would really like to find a good person to take my Buell. It has been great fun, but I am ready to move on, Very clean well maintained, it will make someone very happy. Make an offer, I really dont want to trade it in at a dealer.... thanks kkcdcdc (Donald)

If I still rode my bike daily for transportation and was looking for something a little more stable when they were predicting serious rain or possible snow, one of those would be a good compromise for not wanting to take a car.

Why you can legally ride one of those on the road, and not a quad, I have no idea. I would love a street legal quad for riding in winter.

To get this back on topic looks like you picked a good price for it I like the bike could you put up more pictures?

omg 5000 is a steal for that bike! I would buy it just cause its such a good deal. If i had the cash :(

Yes I have the original skyline seat also... Will probably sell both with bike.. Have had a few intersts lately, Spring is getting closer:D
