Thinking about running 3000k HID's on my Lightning. Is anyone using them? What would be the advantages/disadvantages of running a more yellow light?

Really nothing I think yo would actually end up with alot clearer vision as compared to blueish

The bikes black and gold. I'm doing a bunch of powder coating this winter to try and eliminate some of the gray stuff. Would hate to go through all of this just to end up with blue lights

I have yellow in my high beam and it really helps flood the road with my 6000k low beam.[up]

I have a yellow bulb as my low beam. I just wish it was yellower. You can definitly tell a difference, but it wasn't as dramatic as I expected.

The yellow light wavelengths also penetrate fog/mist better which is why they are used for auxiliary lighting, allowing less glare, and more distant visibility, something you need on the bike.
Hope that helps,
Later,
Dale

thanks. I'll give it a look. Bike's not at my house, so I have to go to it. Kind of a pain but free climate controlled storage. Can't complain.

someone in a youtube had them
and they were kinda greenish looking
i msgd him,and he said they look green for a lil bit before turning yellow
so.... if you turn em on and theyre green.. dont panic ;)

Got the HID's in yesterday. Simple install. Very impressed with the kit. Can't wait to ride at night now!

I know I'm about a year and a half late for this post, but the shorter the wavelingth, the easier the eye picks it up. So, 3K HID will be great for foglights, since it will cut through fog, but not good for everyday normal driving. The opposide for 6K.
