99 X1 ECMSpy problem

ECMSpy v1.12.27
I can see my maps, have them backed up, can see live data...but when I change one figure on a fuel map and try to save, my bike doesn't start up. I have to re-write my backup to the bike again to get it running. Below is everything I could find on the ECM. Is my ECM even programmable or adjustable? I read in some other forums on the web that my ECM may not be adjustable.

I wouldn't mind seeing some 99 X1 ECMSpy maps if anyone has them to give. I have a 2000 X1 map...I think it's a race map (.epr & .txt file). I've been looking at other bikes because places are turning me away for working on my bike but thought I'd give it a try if I'm not in over my head. I've got a V&H exhaust with stock airbox currently.

I guess no one has any ideas? I'm thinking about using someone closest to St Louis to put a race ecm and direct air intake with a tune if anyone has any recommendations for someone who actually can work on my bike and find the right parts?
