2 questions, first of all what do you all think? Give it to me straight, I can take it. The other question is, how do I finish it? I was originally thinking polish the lightning bolts and paint the rest silver to match the rails or graphite to match the frame(paint rails graphite too). But now I'm sure sure if that will out so well (where exactly would I mask it to make it look good?). So now I'm thinking paint the whole thing silver. Opinions?

That's pretty damn cool imho.. wouldnt want to accidentally walk into it in the parking lot.. but cool nonetheless :)[up]

Baad A$$! Literally. Very creative, but I agree about the parking lot run-ins.... My first image was of trying to maneuver around my tight garage and ending up with that thing barbed in my leg, having to wait for someone to yank me off.

ya looks wicked and I like it but if you ride alot in groups and someone ran into you from behind yikes

haha...a buell weapon :p

looks nice! i would do a silver like the complete back with a graphite pinstripe on teh edge of the bolts :D

Nice work [up] I say either polish the bolts or go red to match the bike.

(where exactly would I mask it to make it look good?).

Ok so see if you get me here :D I would follow the line of the first zig-zag on the lightning bolt. ( does that make sense?) Starting the line right about where it starts to bend.

So now I'm thinking paint the whole thing silver. Opinions?

Thats what I did on mine. I ended up painting the side rails as well so that the whole thing matched. The paint I used was real close to the rails but not exact. ( I didn't do all that work to half-ass the paint work ) [cool]

Looks killer! however i don't think i'd have it on something I ride frequently. Maybe a show bike but i wouldn't want to have someone get stabbed or have it get bent or something, but it definitely looks bad ass!

paint the undertail and the matching part of the tail body color with the top painted silver to match the rails

Definitely unique, and pretty cool looking. I'd like to see some pics from a few feet back, on the sides and from the back!

I think it looks sick! You could paint it all a satin black too. It goes well with the rest of the bike.

I'm sick of trying to polish them. I'm having to do it all by hand and it's not working out so well. I'm just going to paint silver so I can get it back together and ride dammit! Next winter I'll try polishing again with proper tools and technique.

Finally got it painted but since the silvers don't match perfectly I'm going to paint the rails and the area of the tailpiece that connects the rails to each other graphite to match the fraim. The rest of the tailpiece will still be silver.
