It seems recently that the words "customer service" are becoming a thing of the past. Everytime I turn around I feel like I'm figting to give some company my business. I think some companies have forgotten the reason they exist in the first place. Harley dealerships are just one offender. Everytime I visit one I wonder why in the world I walked in there in the first place. I always end up leaving with this dumb feeling in my gut. From the time that I had the service guy hand me their 800 page parts catalog and ask me to find my own part, to this weekend when I was told it would be $300 to change my tires (that's change my tires...not purchase and change)...and I would have to leave my bike there over the weekend and the "may" get to it. I mean...WTF. When did customers stop being the most important part of a company? When does a company say to itself..."our reputation is good enough now where we can sh*t on customers and not see a dip in sales"? Yeah Harley of Baltimore I'm talkin about you. Thank God I stumbled onto Battley cycles in Gaithersburg. I dont know if its because they sell more than just Harley and Buell that makes them different. They also sell BMW, Ducati and Yamaha. But everytime I've gone there I get nothing but smiles and great service. The people are friendly, they know what they're talking about and they dont make you feel like a burden. And they are HALF the price of other dealerships. They are over an hour from my house and I choose them in a second over the Harley dealership 15 min from my house. This summer when I look to buy a cruiser for my girlfriend to ride with me...or when she finally decides to get her Blast...guess where I'll be buying from. Anyway, enough venting. I just wanted to give credit where credit was due.

Man, I guess I should feel damn lucky that my local dealer is as good as it is (only 15 minutes away). I had been to the dealer several times looking at bike before ever buying one. Every time I went in there to look there were more than helpful even when I was looking at my Uly. Then I finally decided to purchase my bike and they were great help. Then I took my bike home and unloaded it off of my truck to go for a ride and I started it up and went inside to get my jacket. When I came back out my bike had died and wouldn’t start. I was HOT!!! I called the dealer and they said bring it back and we’ll look it at it. When I got there 3 guys were waiting on me and helped me unload my bike. They put it on a lift and got right to work. A half hour and two spark plugs later I was on my way. I was impressed that they actually fixed it on a Saturday! Then I went back to my dealer to look at some clothes and they were also super helpful and even the owner of the shop came up to me and asked me how I liked my new bike. I also have another dealer about 30 minutes away and they have been good to me so far.

I'm glad you're having good experiences. I wish they all were like that. I have found my dealer...its just a little farther away than I would like. It's a nice ride out there...and I don't do it very often so its doable.

I was lucky indeed with my dealer, I was stationed in Korea when I finally decided to treat myself to a Buell, had to wait almost 9 months to get back to the states to ride it though :D but well worth it. My dealer helped me every step of the way, explained everything to me, I'd never financed anything before. Still ended up paying it off like 4 years early...lolz
