Has anyone adjusted there suspension? Does adjusting affect the hight of the bike? I have studied the chart in the buell manual. Are there any pro's or con's to adjusting the suspension out side of the track?

Yeah, it rides alot better. It should not adjust the ride height much. I think there is 1" of difference between the max preload settings on the rear spring.

Since they are there to properly tune the bike to your weight, I cant see why you wouldnt do it.

Not to an extent you would notice.

The chart in the book is a good starting point. You're style will dictate the changes needed to make the bike feel perfect. Change a setting, then ride. Keep repeating till you have it dialed in. It's the best free mod that you can do and makes a world of difference if done correctly.

You can also compare the Owner's manual charts to these Race settings and give you an idea on what direction to head.

Also some good reads:

- Suspension Setup - Pt.1
- Suspension Setup - Pt.2

it makes a very noticeable difference in handling. I would recommend that everyone tune their suspension. when i first got my bike it felt hard to lean in and was unresponsive. tuning the suspension fixed that, i was beginning to think that buells didn't handle that well.

It is MOST critical that you tune your suspension for your "style" of riding....
For example if you tune your suspension to ride alone every time you have a passenger your tune will be wrong and the resulting suspension dynamics will cause your bike to handle poorly.
You have to tune in sessions also, set your basic static sag, pick a starting point for compression and rebound, then go ride make small adjustments in both directions ( soft and hard ) and front to rear eventually you wil gather a great understanding for what is going on and be able to predict what the adjustments will change, This will allow you to pick different "groups" of preffered settings depending on the riding you are doing for the day and allow you to go back to previous set-ups when desired.

Im getting ready to adjust mine to the chart in the
Buell book. It is way off factory from settings, and way off from my settings. I weight 160lbs. Must have been a fat dude who owned it before me or a big dude, no offense fat people. I will return after a good test ride.

Holy ****! If there is anyone who has not adjusted their suspension to fit their weight, and riding style, please do. My bike felt pretty good before now its like a totaly diff bike. Its so much better. It was so hard to turn before, now its so sweet! It like pure joy. I love this site.

Can anyone post some pictures or a video of how to actually physically adjust the suspension? I feel like its a noob question, but I don't know what tools I would need, what position the bike should be in, or what parts must be physically adjusted. Thanks.

If you have the tools the bike came with and the owners manual, the procedure should take no longer than 20 min.
Make sure the bike is steady on its stand . One of the first things i did to the bike. It made the bike feel a bit sharper, more compliant.
