im looking for a shop in the albany ny area to do an exhaust and filter upgrade to my 04 xb12r,somebody who can do the proper remapping and maybe has a dyno-thx

there is a shop in brunswick, ny about 15-20 mins from albany, ny that should be able to help. I go there when I can't figure something out. Thats now the only dealer in the area. do you live in the area? I am near Amsterdam, ny. I have an 05 XB12R. I did a hawk pipe and K&N with a Race ECM Last year. I am in the process of gettting a ECMspy cable to do my TPS resets.

what does the ecmspy cable allow you to do?whats the tps reset?how did the hawk pipe and other mods work out for you?thx-john

An ECMSpy cable connects your computer to your bike. It allows you to adjust a variety of parameters in the EEPROM that can control how your bike performs.

A TPS reset, or Throttle Position Sensor reset, does exactly what the name suggests. It ensures that your throttle is functioning correctly.

If you would prefer to learn how to datalog and tune the fuel mapping on your bike yourself, I offer private classes. It can be cheaper than working with a dealer and a dyno that may or may not actually adjust things for the better. There are a few unfortunate accounts of dealers taking money from Buell riders to flash a race map and run it on a dyno and call it good. This is not tuning, and can be done at home on the cheap (minus the dyno part). If you're interested in my fee schedule, please send me a PM and I'll be happy to discuss it with you.

Otherwise, welcome to the forum!
