I could not help but notice a Buell XB12X sitting at 32nd Street Naval station in the motorcycle parking at pier 2. I park mine next to it but this XB12X has been there for a long time. Sitting in the salt air caused some nasty corrosion and it looks like the seals in the front caliper let loose and leaked all the fluid on the rim and tire. Tires seem to be holding air so far. Anybody claim this thing? It pains me to look at it evey day getting worse!

Sounds like a someone couldn't find a home for it so he just shipped out. Bummer. Maybe there is a way to contact the owner and store it for him.

I wonder if someone could "run" the vin and find the owner. I am sure he would be grateful to have some fellow buellers take care of his ride for when he comes home. I wish I werent in MO, I would like to help out on this.

Yeah, I'll see if I cant find the owner or at the very least I have an old cover I could place over it for now....

If its parked on a military instalation, then it probably has a DOD decal. The base shore patrol office, I guess thats what the Navy calls it, can run the decal number without probable cause. You have to have probable cause to run VINS and plates, but not the DOD decal number. That should get you the owner and find out if he is shipped out or not. Just a suggestion. 03firebolt where are you at in Missouri? Gonna try to get down to Arkansas this weekend and maybe stay at The Hub. Great, I mean Great riding down there.

I'm out to sea myself right now but I'll ride by pier 2 when we pull back in to see if the Uly is still there. Poor thing looked lonely...

Hey Drunk Uncle...I am in SW MO, near Springfield. Your right, there is good riding down in AR. I am going with some friends on the 22nd down to ride the Pig Trail which has been dubbed Arkansas' dragon tail. I am not sure which way they will take, but I hope they we will going through the hub on HWY 7.

Where are you located?
