anyone experience problem with CF parts from Ebay, specially airbox cover

anyone bought ebay CF body parts and made their whole bike carbon fiber. Everything fits except the air box had to be modified. the ring around the fuel tank rubbed the upper tree bolt in the middle, had to cut it off. anyone experienced this??

YES!!!

Ordered mine from EclipseMoto (the bastard) on eBay, and fit was HORRIBLE! The holes wouldn't line up at all, even after I drilled them way over! If I put the rear holes where they were supposed to be, the CF didn't even reach where the front holes were supposed to be!

Same issue as you on the steering neck rub, too.

When I drilled out the hole, I noticed the fibers were actually white, but were painted/dyed black.... Yup, FAKE carbon fiber!

And only one thin layer, even at that. If you hold it up to a light, you can see right through it.

Then, the guy blackmailed me for feedback. Said if I left negative feedback, he would refuse to send me a refund. WTF?

Working through a PayPal claim now.

On the other hand, the CF windscreen I got from BuellXB was AWESOME! Very good quality!

yes damn chinese made parts. they are shipped to CA then sold thru ebay. everyone beware. it was nightmare to fit the tank.

A few CF parts on my bike. None of them came from ebay, and they are all good quality. You get what you pay for.

why dont you just make your own carbenfiber, just get some fiberglass and make a mold, then use that mold to make a carbenfiber one. if it turn out like crap hey at least you tried right.

The ASB carbon parts look good and are made well,I got some pieces from Ilmberger and their thinner, real light and have A tighter weave, but I think they were made for paint, their not as pretty as the ASB.

I am shooting for black wheels...but damn they are expensive. Wanted to just have mine painted or powder coated...but just didn't happen. Either way, it's my Buell and I love her!

The dog, well he is the best. Name is Ollie and he was born in the Chez Rep. This dog actually shits in the woods...wish I could take credit for that portion of the training, but he is a great friend and family protector.
