I noticed that on my XB12s that the brake light only wants to work on the foot brake. The hand brake will illuminate it sometimes but not always and seems like only light pressure makes it work..but when I squeeze it hard it just goes back to normal with no brake light.
Thanks!
Dave

This may seem stupid, but I had the same problem and found out that one of the spade connectors had slipped off the switch. It wasn't obvious at first. Trailer straps were the culprit I think.

I had the same problem with mine. I removed the switch that was held on by a phillips head screw then sprayed some WD-40 in there to clean out any grit or spider nests. Worked like a charm. And to check if it is the switch that is bad, take a paper clip and touch the two connectors inside the plug on the wire side to make sure the brake light illuminates. Good luck

thanks guys...I will try all of the above. It appears to work the more I mess with it so it may have a bad connection or just some dirt in there.

:)
