anyone had luck with special ops exhaust?

I'm looking into it due to lower cost, whats the best map to use with it and a k&n or similar filter... or if i skip the k&n can i use the stock map?

or should i lean towards another brand?

Thats why I have on my bike, and quite a few other on here do also. I love it, it does its job, loud as hell. Map wise you will want to try and get it on a dyno to get it tuned just rite. If you want to just put the pipe on for now and not worry about tuning it, just leave the factory filter in there. when your able to get it tuned stick the k&n in there.

I did the spec ops pipe on my 07 12r and I love it! when I put the pipe on I also did the race ecm and a k&n filter with the tps reset. I love every second of it!

dont waste your time with special ops. youll send him your pipe and he spend 3 months jerking you around. check out Hawk Performance mufflers. I have both pipes and i perfer the Hawk pipe. Randy will finish your pipe in one day.

I think that both the hawk and the specops are great pipes. I have heard nothing but good things about randy and his work on the hawk. Odie I have been knowing via the internet for quite a while and he is a good guy but he seems to get his self a little too busy as he owns 2 businesses and a full time job. Both have better prices than drummer. Randy from what I understand will tune ur ecm for you as well. I would say go with the Hawk for the shorter turn around and the fact that he will help you tune ur ecm. But you can't go wrong with either one.

Have speacial ops pipe on my 06 12r and love it.Along with all the other mods. It did take some time but he is a busy man. I did mine during winter so no big deal definitly worth the price.

eh iam not gunna bash odie but from what ive gotten is he is very busy and just doesnt have the turn around like randy

Randy does the Pipe, ECM, and tail chop for one price.
Turn around is less than a week or right at including shipping.

Sweet deal. I've had my Ops for about 2 years now and still love it. Also did my tuning through Xoptiinside. but I hear he no longer tunes. Once all my mods where in place with my pipe and it got all tuned...she became a different beast. You'll love it. May I ask what a "tail chop" is?

May I ask what a "tail chop" is?

You're kidding, right? If you're not, it's the removal of the long tail section that holds your license plate, plate light, reflectors and turn signals by cuting off the unneeded excess, therefore making the tail section look cleaner and shorter. Just wait for all the pics that will start showing up...

Hmmm...ty was not kidding. So for what price is all this done for. The tail sections I've seen are all expensive...if the tail looks clean, he maps and does the muffler while keeping the servo, that's impressive. About to buy a second 12r so would be interesting...

Got a Drummer on my 9 and love it. Was around $400. Got a great rumble going around town, and gets it when wide open. Cheers.
