so we have a lot of members and I was just curious as to how many of you actually race your Buell... professionally or on the track that is lol or does anyone race any type of bike for that matter?

Any type of bike????? OK, I'm a racer... I raced bicycles for about 10 years. I raced 24 hour mountain bike endurance races. (During Summer months only). I have a wall full of 1st & 2nd place finishes (in my age group and catagory) and so does my wife. You did say any type of bike......

Also.... the bikes I used for racing were Klein and Ventana. At least two of the bikes I used cost over $5,000.00 each.... and I was the motor!!!!

lol your right I did say any type of bike, and thats pretty cool, nice to know we have someone with a competitive edge... I watch a lot of AMA supersport racing and I really would like to be a part of it... but I dont know where to start lol

Wanna race bicycles???? Gotta be over 18, have a bike and be crazy enough to ride as many laps through the woods for 24 hours. Just gotta say that it hurts like hell but its a total blast. There were usually about 500-600 racers plus support crews, family friends and the like. I highly recommend giving it a shot.....

I know a few other guys on another board race. The best thing to do is go to a track days and attend a racing school. Then spend copious amounts of cash on you bike just to be able to keep up. At least thats what I keep reading from them. A cheaper deal would to get into club racing with the 450 dirt bikes with the sport bike conversion.

450moto racing they are very cool bikes and me and a friend are thinking of building 2 and rig it for the street with lights and plate.

wow, thanks for the info everyone... 450moto bikess look pretty cool. looks like something I could see myself getting into. the main reason I want to race to help build skills and experience as RHYNOXB9R stated. anyone out there with any AMA racing experiences

i just track day a GSXR-600, set up just for track use. I go about 4 times a year, good fun but can get pretty expensive especially with all the travel costs associated for me. But it is well worth it, you learn alot, get to meet some great people and is a whole lot of fun..

Pretty much,I raced for Motocarrera, the owner,Doug Johnson, helped me out with entrance fees and parts that would break or burn out, other than that you pay big dollars to do something that you have a love in your heart for, that was my case.Nowadays,if by the age of about 15-16 you have not had some kind of interaction with a factory rep,you won't.Sometimes the money is worth it for the experiences you will come across.

lol man, im already 23, way past the 15-16 mark but none the less I still will try to get some type of racing or track time in because I believe you can never have enough experience when it comes to riding a motorcycle [up]

That's for damn sure,I threw a leg over my first bike when I was 14,a Maico 390 automatic dirt bike, and have not stop riding yet,and I'll be 40 on Feb 9th.You will never stop learning on a bike.
