are the new ebr bikes rotax engines?

I really dig the 1125 but am worried about future parts availability if therotax engine was only used for a couple years.

The new EBR 1190's are based on the design of the 1125. Erik was in a partnership with Rotax on the design and had proprietary rights on the 1125. Now he has sole rights and as far as I know sole manufacture. The 1190 is an evolution of the 1125. Ergo, the 1190 upgrade big bore kit, etc. He hasn't abandoned us yet. There is some parts that are not interchangable, but there is some really smart, resourceful people on here that will address these issues as we go. Stay tuned...........

^ This is correct. I watched it happen in June of 2014 at the factory. Something like 16 stations where the bike is built from bare cases to a rolling/running bike. Total time to build, two (2) 8 hour days. I think they said it was about 40 minutes at each station.

The 1190 is about as similar to the 1125 as the 984 is to the 883.

The parts manual I have for the 1190 RX is the partial one they came out with in the initial release. It only has a few of the engine parts detailed. When I get my hands on the full parts manual for the 1190, I will do a complete comparison of the part numbers and will post a thread detailing all the engine parts that are compatible. I am very interested in this info also. Some numbers will be different as they have revised some of the parts. That doesn't automatically mean that they are not compatible, but may mean they need to be replaced as a group. E.G. the new heads will work but need to be combined with the new pistons for proper valve relief. Stay tuned......
