avoiding "stinky" leg syndrome

in my few weeks of owning my buell and riding it to work, so far the only disadvantage has been that i get high on exhaust fumes...i find it strange considering it is a "city bike" (my cityX at least).

anyways, other than sitting on my bike awkwardly with my legs far forward what options do I have?

do most people wear ballistic pants when riding to work?

what aftermarket mufflers will reduce the stinky leg?

Seriously - I ride "City X" everyday and yes the fumes are nice but no, I've dont wear ballistic pants (Levi's are my brand of choice) and I've never heard any complaints about having a stinky leg...

I may be weird but I like the smell...reminds me of when I raced hydroplanes...

BTW - Did you happen to recently wrap your pipes?
THAT does stink for awhile.

ive really never noticed a lot of fumes or stinky leg - only thing i have noticed is a hot right leg if i wear shorts when i ride

I have the same problem. Sometimes it even prevents me from riding somewhere that I have to wear nice clothes. It mostly happens when I'm stopped on a slope and I have to hold the rear break while I have my left leg down, causing my left leg to get exhausted. I have seen a jardine tip extender, but it looks lame. Maybe a dual tip muffler will make the amount of exhaust less on the legs

oh yea forgot to post what i was originally gonna say - my Tiforce exhaust has adjustable tips and i have them both facing down under the bike (kinda like a car dump) - ill get some pics up soon

Nah. I have a dual tip and both legs and feet get blasted...

I don't know anything about this exhaust. I just noticed that it has a "front" outlet. Might solve your problem.

I had the same problem, I dress nice for work and dont like to smell like an exhaust pipe. I always leave my left leg up at a stop and that really helps. not a complete solution though. the only pipe that I think would solve the problem is the fugly jardine gp pipe, not for me so one legg up is the way to go

ya, that jardine don't look so good. the front exit is interesting though.

i started adopting the 1 leg up recently to try and curb the stinky leg.

you'd think the engineers would think about that for a city bike
