Hi I am new to buells but i love it so far! I recently picked up a 2009 xb12r with 4900 miles.. I swapped the oil to ams oil fully synthetic when i picked it up other than that the bike is in original condition with no mods.. It has been great until it started making a bad vibrating noise that hits in any gear at about 4000 rpm. It works its self out at around 5100. The bike looses power while it is vibrating aswell. Not sure where to begin here.. thanks in advance.

Try and separate the noise from speed at those revs to separate drive issues versus other issues.

I know you wrote any gear.

The next question: is it metallic or a dull noise?

It seems to be more of a metallic vibration. the noise is there whether the bike is moving or if i rev the engine while the bike is stopped. sounds like it is at the front lower end of the engine. any thoughts? Im thinking it could be the exhaust strap/clamp.
