so i have a xb9s and i really really like this bike. the most enjoyable bike i've ever owned. that being said i've been toying with the idea of taking a long trip with it however i have like no storage. everytime i take a trip i end up wearing a backpack. is there any storage options for a xb?? i don't want the bike to look terrible either i'm not a big fan of bags i think they look terrible...i do have the buell tank bag and i take it off every chance i get because i'm not crazy about how it looks. but i'm tired of my buddies laughing when i can't even take a bottle of water with me lol

buy my ulysses!!! :D :D :D

I see soft tail and saddle bags for sale on here and on ebay pretty frequently, if you don't want to get as serious as hard luggage. I also bungee things to my back seat if I need to.

I really like the look of the buell tail bag on a standard seat (it may look a bit odd on your city X seat because of the lack of contour)
it stays on my bike all the time and holds my spare shield and kickstand puck
room for 2-3 20 oz bottles too

granted this is not your long haul option but for day trips or commuting its perfect, especially for me because I leave home with it bright and sunny and come home at dark so switching shields is necessary

oh yea
if a wrap a belt around my rain gear it will fit inside there with a shield WITHOUT expanding the bag

Spare helmet shield/visor for my full face helmet
That way I have one dark smoke and one clear on me at all times. it's not as necessary for most riders with most helmet brands; but the dark smoke on my old shark lid was 2 or 3 times darker than my shoei scorpion or bell, so night use was nearly impossible. That and I want as much visability as possible, especially in Michigan because the deer are prevalent.

Rainsuit, gloves, socks, 6-pack and smokes. maybe a bit more with imagination :D I like Delta's tail bag. I had a tank bag, did't like it but would be useful on the road.

it seems a soft bag system would do for you.

Bags-Connection Reverse tailbag for daily small stuff (available at TwistedThrottle)

Hepco-Becker hard cases for touring, nothing better than to lock the helmet in the bag and go with free hands

as you see, no need for Uly;)

I run the hepco and becker system as pictured above on my lightning with the buell tail bag and love it just took a 1200 mile trip last weekend and could fit everything i needed in it.

Also once you get the mounting bracket from hepco and becker you can chose any of their bags including the ones off the uly or the xp that actually say buell on the logos.

Do the hepco and Becker brackets work on SS models? there site only list the short models.

Buell Tail Bag for XB. Got mine from ASB like a month ago (way cheaper than the ones that go on EBAY). Decent room, but I never really ride long trips of 100+ miles...yet.

The main part of the braket bolts into your passenger braket holes and then it has one bolt that bolts into cheesegrator up under the license plate but i am about to modify mine to be used with the fender eliminator. Go to hepco's site and download the installation directions to see if you can make it work because it sure is nice to get to your hotel and take your luggage in with you.

awesome thanks guys! i really like the tail bag and with my current tank bag i think that would make my longer trips a little more enjoyable :)

I also use the tail bag and put all my rain gear in it plus 2 spark plugs, and small collaspable funnel, cell phone, and a tire pressure gauge
