Baja 1000 rider died.

I don't keep up with the Baja much , but the top rider for KTM hit "a man made booby trap" and the injurys (head) killed him. Kurt Cassilli (not sure of the spelling) , was in the lead as I understand it. I've heard people there do this hoping to crash trucks and buggys then steel parts off them, but causing a death, and have not heard anything on main media, just my motorcycle sites, Un believable that booby traps are an accecpted thing in this race, ... well I heard of them many times before. I signed up a month ago to win an adventure ride on new KTM with him in AZ. but that can't happen now. God speed to him.

Just read an update from KTM, now they believe it may have been an animal ran in front of him. They are still investigating.

I did read "despite early rumors of a booby trap, it was an actual accident"

Latest I've seen says that he hit an animal on a high speed section of the course. He was just on the cover of motorcycle magazine, crazy how things happen.
