banging out

Guy's I've got a 2000 xi lightning. It's been sitting about seven years and it has new plugs, wires, and fuel pump. It's banging out if you hammer on it. If you take it easy it does ok until you get around 5 grand. Just wondering what to check next. Oh yeah it idles fine.

Check your coil ohms. And intake seals

LOL lets try a different term. It's starts missing if I hammer on it around 5 grand . Idles fine and the Intake seals are ok ,but maybe the air filter is trashed so I'll try that next.

If it's missing it sounds like ignition breakdown which would point me to the coil first.
