Here is what I started with. 2003 XB9R with 10K on it. Racekid installed. Bike is mint condition with the exception of a locked up transmission.

Here is what I am left with now. Its been almost 7 months and because its next to impossible to find any engine and transmission parts for this bike I am still on my search. I found a transmission last week. I still need a bunch more internal transmission parts.

I have to say that this is the most challenging bike I have ever worked on. Its so incredibly simple yet the parts are almost impossible to find. If I could have found the parts to fix this bike I would have had it up and running in 2 weeks. Its been 7 months.
It seems that splitting the engine case on one of these bikes and doing internal lower half engine and transmission work is extremely uncommon and because of this there is very little info or parts available.
I can't find shifter forks and shifter fork tubes anywhere including dealerships. The only things the dealerships have are tires, batteries, primary belt and spark plugs. Not a good experience so far. I can't imagine what the guys that race these things do! If something internal breaks you are done for a while unless you buy a complete motor. There are tons of them for sale.

I know there are some differences, but isn't it basically just a sportster motor? I'm sure you've looking into this though...

I've had no problems getting misc. parts from my dealer(not the same kind of parts you need though).

Is that one of them dang ol' Buell motorbike contraptions?

Lol, I've actually got a blown the **** up xb12 that might have salvageable trans parts. I've yet to pull it that far apart, just pulled the jugs/heads.

Assuming xb12 trans parts are the same as your bike I may be able to come up with some stuff for you. Again.. i'd have to break the motor down further which could be a few weeks. Anyways good luck bud!

fire, I'd be interested in your transmission parts. I'm going to try to devise a way to adapt the Baker six speed to the Xb's, if at all possible. I need a donor transmission from a XB as I don't want to F mine up, and a donor transmission from a blast as they shift the same as the XLs

Okay, I'll look into pulling it apart to see how it looks. I doubt the gears have any damage, but only one way to find out.

Thanks for sniping the parts bro.
BTW...
The transmissions are the same for the 2003-2004 XB9R-XB12R

Lol i didn't even realize the last guy i replied to wasnt the OP. Obviously i'd give OP(jqcable) dibs. But seriously this may take me a few weeks to get into them, i've got a lot on my plate. I'll PM you fellas later, i've still got to split the cases on it and see what i'm dealing with.

JG, I'm not your bro, and I wasn't trying to snipe parts. The parts I need are not the shift rails, or the shift forks. They wont work with the Baker, it shifts like a XL. The parts I need are the cases, main shaft, and counter shaft.

Guys, guys, there's plenty of buell parts to go around. Oh wait.. no there isn't!

I'll see what the OP needs first from me (when i get this apart), and then ill offer anything left to firefighter, then the rest goes to the classifieds.

Thats just the way I talk. Everybody is my bro. I meant no disrespect! It was a light hearted comment.
Sorry if you took it the wrong way. I should have added a smiley face to my response.

Regarding parts, I just got an email from BuellParts and they can get me everything which is awesome but pricey. I would still be interested in those shifter forks because they are expensive new.
Finally... parts. All is good. I can't wait to get this bike back together.

No offense taken. Just can't stand to be called "bro". One of troops seriously did that to me the other day. Then he curled a .50 cal machine gun for a while.
