Belt snapped off

The surprising thing is that this belt was bought in the summer of last year and it's supposed to be stronger than the original.

What can I do? (Besides buy a new one)

buy a new one is all you can do unless you convert to a chain which will cost you more than replacing the belt. the Goodyear belt is better than the original Gates.

I bought this belt from AmericanSportBike.com. Where can I get the Goodyear belt?

bought mine from newcastlehd.com, P/N: G0500.02A8R here the one from ASB is the same.
I changed my original '03 belt at 66,600 miles last year over concern of age and mileage. the belt still looked good and passed it on to someone else that needed it for their bike.

I buy Gates belts from RockyMountainATV.com

I had one split about month after purchase, they replaced it pretty quickly.

Are the marks on the teeth from when the belt met the road?

I would check to make sure your belt is not rubbing on both pulleys. See marks on one side of teeth, could that be why your belt snapped? Make sure it is tracking right.

also check for the coating on the idler pulley...could affect the wear on the belt
