bike help...wont shift past 2nd gear

hey so I replaced the primary cover on my bike (2004 xb12s) after breaking a tap off that the clutch pach sits on. still don't know how that managed to happen. Anyways now after putting the bike back together it wont shift higher than 2nd. Any suggestions. thanks

Hey LeFox......I don't know really why it broke. it broke internally. The bike was never dropped. what axle do you mean? here is a pic of the old primary you can see were it cracked.
