any one ever use Dairyland?
There quote i just got on line with my record is pretty good both bike full coverage and comp 1k/year
vs progressives 2200/year.

Nope, read an article on Yahoo News about automotive insurance and great thing about Michigan is it is the number one highest rate insurance state in the country.

Average driver pays $2500 per/yr or so. Vermont is the lowest at $995. One more reason I can't wait to move out of MI. Where I am planning on moving AZ or FL have an average of nearly $1k less per/yr than MI. So that is an average of $1k I can use for gas, mods, or to just pay bills.

So that is an average of $1k I can use for gas, mods, or to just pay bills.

lets be honest with ourselves.....if you move someplace warm that doesnt have a harsh winter like MI does, then that 1k would be used for gas and tires.....and gas and tires only! haha

Most likely but am pretty sure any one would rather spend money on a hobby rather than letting your insurance company soak it up.

That's what I was paying when I had full coverage from Dairyland. Now I'm on liability for less than 300 a year with 2 pts on my record. Cheapest I've come across.

Dang Baja, that is cheap. Im currently trying to find the cheapest liability insurance so I'll have to give Dairyland a call.

Through State Farm my bike rates are $26mo for Liability and $46mo for Full Coverage. I only insure it for 6mo and then my renters insurance covers it being in the garage for the winter.

I've found geico is my best choice. I had state farm, and I let it lapse for 2 days( their fault) and they dropped me. This is after they paid for a theft recovery. I tried dairyland, cause my buddy uses them, but they were very expensive for me. I now see allstate combines auto and motorcycle. I will be checking into that.

I have dairyland. I'm paying just over $500 a year for full coverage. Clean record + winter + good driver discount.

Kajer had dairyland when he crashed. They paid out no problem.

I would complain a little about State Farm but in the end I was paid off for two bikes and my rates didn't budge so I am happy.

Dave how do you have Winter? Don't you ride year round? Or is it like a lower milage rate based off the fact you say you won't ride during winter months?

Ouch here in ohio its $1200 a year to full insure both of our cars I have $100k/300k(mine a '06 Scion xB and my wifes '04 Alero)

And my motorcycle gets liability to the tune of $75 a year!!!:D

I should get a full coverage quote just to see what that would be. I know in Ohio they do not allow you to have your insure for only the summer anymore. Its all year or nothing.

[EDIT] And I'm 25 with 1 pt currently.

In my experience it is cheaper getting quotes online. Some of the bigger companies offer discounts when ordering online, because it is less work for them. But to be safe you could compare quotes online, pick the best offer and try a local agency to see if they can match it or do better.

I recommend this site for online comparing: www.quotes-center.com

I have Statefarm for all 3 of my trucks and my bike.Total for liability only for all 4 is $82/month.I did have Geico for my bikes but since picking up the Buell,I got a online quote and it was higher than Statefarm. So back to Statefarm for me and my agent is great.

maybe i'm just old, but i pay $260/year from progressive full coverage in NJ.

42+clean record+safety course=good rate

Ihave progressive through USAA and i pay 46 a month for full coverage :0 ) and that's with them holding the title.

i have just liability on my bike and 2 points in my history
geico-750/year
rider-530/year
allstate-1100/year
progressive-400/year
i went with progressive

progressive was about 1/2 what riders wanted. i even changed my car insurance over to them, saved about $75/month over allstate for same coverage.
