Wouldn't you know it, only the 3rd time I've ever ridden w/o a lid and a cager decides she wants my lane more than I do and knocks me out of it. I see a new Buell in my future. Now I just have to decide which one. Here's a few pics of the bike and me.

Geez man that sucks, how's the wife taking it? How did the insurance company take it? What gear were you wearing? Looks like nothing is broken so at least you were able to walk away. Hope you heal up soon and get back to riding. Let me be the first to say....shame on you for not wearing a lid, but I am really glad that you didn't get your head splatted on the cement worse than you did man.

Wife was no problem, in fact she rode hers to work the next day and said she was fine with it. Haven't dealt with the other drivers insurance co yet (we both have state farm). Trust me, I will never, ever ride w/o gear again. Once I settle up I will buy full gear and whatever's left will be for a bike. A guy who saw the whole thing and is a nurse thought I was dead for sure and was shocked when I stood up and said I'm OK.

nice tear in the frame [smirk]

riding without a lid, even after i opened that special topic

good it's only some scratches...you're a lucky man and i wish you a good recovery and hope all goes well with the insurance. ;)

how did 'the cager' react?

damn i just got off the phone to see if my jacket is off back order yet.. its been forever now i want one more then ever. I had a dream that i got the new CR last night, mybe i see one in your future?:p

yeh, I haven't been online for about a week. I will definately be getting some opinions on gear once I settle up with the ins.

Have to see one in person first, right now the 1125R is on the top of my list. I may even defect and go with a Duc.

Bikes can be replaced, you cannot.Glad to see you are allright. No matter how good of a rider one might be,you can never give others credit for commonsense, bikes and protective gear go hand in hand.Whatever you choose to ride next, ride safe.

went from duc to buell...can't say i regret the choice. ;)

That looks like a nasty crash! What a nightmare - luckily (if one can say so), you managed quite well. What speed did you crash in?

Foxie, that was cool. Over here, only thing i hear is. Why don't you go for a Duc, get yourself a real bike, instead of that Buell. Did you have a monster?

Insurance company won't sell the bike back to me since it is so new. No matter as no plastics survived other than front fender. I still wanted to get that lightning bolt tailpiece, D&D, and the Crossroads off of it though. They will let me know what salvage yard it goes to when it's all settled. Maybe I can get those off of it from there.
