Hey, I'm in Australia. Is there any issue with buying a XB12Ss that was originally made for the Brazilian market? It's now in Australia and being sold by a dealer.
Thanks

nope, i haven't heard anything bad about them...

a mate of mine here in New Zealand just got a XB12SS that our local bike shop just imported from Brazil, along with 5x XB12XT's and 3x XB9SX's.

here's a pic of it just after they opened the crate.

I'am from Brazil and apparently all our Buell dealers just closed up, and i think the guy who owns all the Harley dealers broke his contract and lost them too.(he owned all the buell dealers in here also) So, these bikes were probably stuck at the factory in the US and are probably cheaper.

I don't think there are any changes to it, except maybe for the ECM setup because our Gas has 20% Alcohol in it. (80%Gas+20%Etanol)or maybe the ignition. But they probably changed the setup again to import it to Australia.

all the Harley dealerships in NZ got a shipment of bikes intended for Brazil and have dropped $5,000 off the price of the brand new 0km bikes.

So, either those bikes are that cheap because:
A) They are inferior (not likely for what I've seen the bikes are 100% identical to the ones all over the world.)
B) They were stuck in stock and needed to be sold
C) For some reason, due to brazilian absurd import taxes Buell reduced their profit in order to make them more accessible when shipped here.

In any case, for $5,000 less all i can say is: Go for it! Even if it has a different setup, it's not much different and probably has been changed to stock before they shipped to NZ and Australia, even if it doesn't those $5,000 are more than enough to put a new map on the ECU and even an Jardine Exhaust.

you are refering to the HDI version, i have one, an 09 xt.
only problem i have is that the confort kit that i want, which uses a large scoop, wont fit cause the headers curve upwards instead of downwards, and the muffler is catalytic. aftermarket cans like d n d or jardine dont fit either. other than that and some wiring differences its the same bike. ok it probly shows kilometers instead of miles also. if they really did nock off 5k on price (which i dont believe) its a hell of a deal. my 09 has the latest flash and it runs way better than my last which was an early 08.
