Well I have rode about 60 miles in them so far and wore them for 2 days while at work, and I will give you my thoughts.
But first a word about me, I run barefoot (vibram 5 fingers) and my daily wear shoes are about as thick as a thick pair of socks ( I can literally roll them up like a tortilla). I hate foot coffins! I also have a kind of wide foot.
Fit- spot on I wear a 10 bought a 10.5 and they are exactly a half size too big. They are not narrow, but I would like lightly wider for my foot *they do seam to be breaking in a bit wider
Sole- Pretty grippy and as flexible as a standard pair of skate shoes. I like.
Lacing system- Boa lacing system is awesome. I hate standard laces and these are way better. Spin the dial on the tongue and it tightens all the way down and really wraps the foot. *you may need to take a few steps or two then re-tighten to get them really snug. Then off is easy just pull the dial and it instantly loosens
Protection- shift guard is a bit thin especially when shifting an xb, but still seems sturdy. Ankle guards come about a half inch over the ball of your ankle and seem hard enough to take a beating and the padding there is thick. Protection in the sole is limited since there is no shank, but thats what I prefer as stiff shoes kill my feet.
Day to day wear- a bit warm because of the thick padding but if you wear skate shoes your used to it pretty comfy except wear it could be a little wider for my wide foot, but that may be solved once they are broken in for a week or 2
over all they get 4 stars ou tof 5 from me. The lacing system alone is worth every penny the shoe costs.
