breather evap can removal

I would like to eliminate the breather can on the L side of the bike. Is this only a California part or nation wide? Can't find to many photos of bikes with them... Twinmotorcycles shows optional hoses for non CA models.

you can remove it, it's a California emissions canister, only required for California models...still have mine on, though I currently live in Arizona.

Just take it off and throw it on a shelf... Really all it's for is if your bike falls over it does not leak gas..

It looks like there is a different hose on the parts diagram for non CA model. I like to do stuff as right as possible so just pulling the part with no real understanding of consequences is out of the question.. One hose is the fuel breather line and the other hose goes back to the throttle body and pulls air when disconnected I believe, that can't be good...
I guess this is the real question. what to do about the line going back to the TB? Should it be capped when eliminating the evap can?

There a write ups if you.google catch can or catch can delete followed by buellxb.com. I took squidbuellies route and bought hose from the local auto storeand a tee then ran them down below and behind the left side front foot peg. Some guys run a catch can that you can drain. The tee is for crank case ventilation. Easy diy in less than a day

Cap the throttle body... And run the tank breather down next to the left rear set.... Or remove the charcoal canister and plug the line to the throttle body....
The charcoal canister is just a simple vapor loop...
If there is to much pressure in the fuel tank the vapors get devolved inside the charcoal canister instead of releasing the vapors into the air... The throttle body vacuum line creates vacuum to suck the fumes down the engine.
Think of it as a weak smog system..
Stop putting to much thought into it......

The NOS label has been removed, got some crazy looks from people cause of it, however the can is still mounted. It doesn't bother me and my bike doesn't look like everyone else's here in AZ

delete the EVAP canister. Did you ever figure out the correct way to make it like a non
California model.
